Tracing hidden assets

In divorce settlements, a court must decide what is fair for both parties when they order how assets are divided.

All too often, many divorces are not settled fairly because of what is known as 'NON-DISCLOSURE'.  This is a failure by a party to the divorce to properly disclose all of their assets and liabilities.

As a consequence, one party may be awarded more, or sometimes less, then they are entitled to by law.

The most significant problem with non-disclosure, is proof.  It is not enough to dispute a declaration by saying 'I know that's wrong because....' any allegation needs to be backed up with hard evidence, such as documentation that clearly shows that the allegation has considerable weight.

Without such evidence, the allegation will in all likelihood be dismissed.

how to instruct us

Call us in complete confidence on 020 7138 2798

Our initial consultation by phone and/or email is free of charge and 100% without obligation.

We will discuss your case with you in considerable detail before we can provide a quotation for the cost of the investigation, timescale for completion and probable outcome in your favour.

We will provide a fixed cost for the investigation, thus allowing you to manage your budget easily, there are no 'hidden extras'. When we uncover a serious non-disclosure, you will be able to apply for our costs to be covered when you go back to Court.

It is very important to follow the 'Golden Rule' of non-disclosure investigation.  Always investigate before you litigate.  Lawyers can only deal with evidence, they cannot 'make' evidence out of nothing. However, if your divorce has already been settled and you feel strongly that the settlement was unfair due to non-disclosure, we can still usually assist you with a legal remedy.
